The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon is one of sports ultimate examinations of physical and mental endurance. To complete this famous 125 mile journey from the far edge of the North Wessex Downs into the heart of London requires high levels of skill, stamina and determination.

The continuous version of the event, known as the ‘senior doubles’, is the longest non-stop canoe race in the world. In the late summer of 2009 Paul Homersham, a novice kayaker, decided to enter the non-stop version of the race with his friend Ben Jarvis and raise some funds for 3 charities at the same time. They completed the race again in 2012 to raise more funds and you can donate on our fundraising site below;

This site has information about the Devizes to Westminster Race and about Paul's experiences learning and attempting the 'DW'. Also included are some materials that Paul developed during and after the attempt at the race in order to continue raising funds for the charities. A proportion of the sales of these publications and souvenirs will be donated to each charity.
